Free Crochet Pattern: The Littlest Princess (or Prince) Baby Blanket

My husband's friend just had a baby girl and I whipped this up for that sweet, new bundle of joy.  I love the texture of the middle portion and the lines of the border that you get by working in the back loops only. You can make this  blanket as big or small as you want.  Use any yarn and corresponding hook that you would like, start with a beginning chain that is a multiple of 2 + 1 and make it as wide as you would like then repeat row 2 to reach your desired length.  Follow the border as specified. Even though I have this pictured in pink for a baby girl, it would be great for a baby boy too.  I'm planning on making one in gray and one in navy for baby boys that are due to arrive soon. This would even be great in a bigger size for as a throw. Materials needed: • 5.00MM crochet hook • Cascade Yarns Pacific- Used here: 3 skeins of 06 Baby Pink • Tapestry needle for sewing in the ends  Gauge: • 8 hdc= 2 inches Abbreviations: • ch= chain

Free Crochet Pattern: The Greene Pom Pom Scarf

I have been working on fall/winter items for my kids lately.  I came up with this scarf (there's a matching hat coming soon too!).  I love the color block look.  I showed my daughter yarn and asked her to pick out 2 colors and then I added the cream.  I used Cascade Yarns Pacific here.  I am loving this yarn lately.  I have used it to make hats, blankets, amigurumi, you name it...it is quickly becoming one of my go to yarns. This scarf is super simple.  I have written the pattern in 3 sizes but you can easily customize it to be any size you want.  I use a pom-pom maker for my pom-poms but you can find a tutorial online if you don't have a pom-pom maker or if you want to make it without one. Materials needed: • U.S. I/9- 5.5 MM crochet hook • Cascade Yarns Pacific in 3 colors- used here: 37 Clover, 52 Geranium, 01 Cream (you can easily substitute any other yarn, your  finished size may change though) • Tapestry needle for sewing in the ends  • Clover pom-po

Free Crochet Pattern: Verona Blanket

I love this blanket so much!  I love it in the Christmasy colors above.  But this blanket would look awesome in any color combination- for boys or girls.  It would also look perfect in one solid color. It is really fun to make.  Even though I love making blankets more than anything, I sometimes get bored when the pattern repeats too much.  But for this blanket, I really didn't lose interest at all. Here are some close ups of the stitches- It is good as a baby blanket but also as a toddler blanket or a lapghan for anyone. I hope you enjoy making it as much as I did! Crochet Pattern: The Sutton Receiving Blanket

The Sutton Receiving Blanket is a really perfect baby blanket, if I don't say so myself :)  You can change your yarn depending on what you are looking for- acrylic/cotton for Spring/Summer or wool/wool blend for Fall/Winter.  Depending on your yarn, this blanket can be lightweight and airy but will still provide warmth or super warm with wool. I loved using this to cover my baby in an infant car seat.  It was just the right size and kept her really warm.  It was great for the stroller too. Here's a close look of the stitch work...
