I saw this beautiful cable pattern from  my picot.com and fell in love.  It is one of the most beautiful crochet cable patterns I have ever seen. My favorite part of it is the thick cable.  And as soon as I saw it, I started thinking what I could make with it.  This baby cocoon is what I came up with. Making the first cable is tricky but once you get it down, it's really easy to work up.  There are detailed pictures for this cable at  my picot.com .  You can reference these pictures while you are making this cocoon, just make sure you are looking at the pictures that are for the large cable, not the smaller one or the bobbles. This hat makes an adorable newborn photo prop for a newborn baby girl or boy.  I made mine for my new baby girl, but if you used blue instead of pink, it would be awesome for a baby boy too. I love all of the projects that Lucy at Attic 24 makes.  I want to make so many of them but usually don't get around to it.  When I saw her Valentine Sweet Heart , though, I started right away. I decided to make one for each of my girls, for there rooms or bedroom doors. I used the following yarns and a F/5-3.75MM hook.  Unless noted, I used Stylecraft Special DK yarn. Once a week, we have homemade pizza for dinner.  Everyone looks forward to it. I have tried so many crust recipes and all of them were good but not worth repeating.  I just kept searching for the best.  I finally found one that fit the bill.  It's Pioneer Woman's Pizza Crust.  You can find the crust recipe here .  Make sure you use extra virgin olive oil, I think it makes all the difference. Mix the dough ingredients and form into a ball.  Then lightly coat the ball of dough with olive oil and cover the bowl with a clean tea towel.  Let it rise for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Prepare to pans (I usually use cookie sheets) by sprinkling them with cornmeal. Split the dough in half and roll each half out on a floured surface and put it on the prepared pans. I made these adorable Valentine's headbands for my daughters.  For three free crochet headband patterns and how I made them, see below! I saw the cutest heart headband floating around Pinterest and decided to make one for each of my daughters.  The tutorial for the heart headband is here and the original heart pattern is here . But instead of using an elastic headband, I decided to use a crochet one.  I made some of these last year for my girls to wear at Easter and they turned out well so I was excited to make more. Here are my hearts: For the red one, I used Vanna's Choice yarn in Scarlet with a K hook.  For the darker pink, I used Red Heart Soft Baby Steps in Strawberry with an I hook.  For the lighter pink, I used Vanna's Choice yarn in Pink with a G hook.
