Free Crochet Pattern: Alexandria Flower Headband

This year I have decided to make my daughters' Christmas dresses.  It is a lofty goal for me.  I'm not sure if I'll get it done, but I'm going to try :)   I am putting the finishing touches on my youngest's dress now and I decided to make her a headband to go with it.  So, here is what I came up with.   Materials needed: •  D/3- 3.25 MM crochet hook •  Louisa Harding Yarns Akiko- you'll use less than 1 skein to make this headband and flower • Tapestry needle for sewing in the ends  Gauge: • You can make this headband in any size.  Before I joined my headband, the piece measured 16".  You want your headband piece to measure exactly the circumference of the head.  (This is different than my other headbands because I am not using elastic here to make it stretchy.) Abbreviations: • ch= chain • sc= single crochet • hdc= half double crochet • dc= double crochet • sl st= slip stitch • MR= magic ring ...

Free Crochet Pattern: The Littlest Princess (or Prince) Baby Blanket

My husband's friend just had a baby girl and I whipped this up for that sweet, new bundle of joy.  I love the texture of the middle portion and the lines of the border that you get by working in the back loops only. You can make this  blanket as big or small as you want.  Use any yarn and corresponding hook that you would like, start with a beginning chain that is a multiple of 2 + 1 and make it as wide as you would like then repeat row 2 to reach your desired length.  Follow the border as specified. Even though I have this pictured in pink for a baby girl, it would be great for a baby boy too.  I'm planning on making one in gray and one in navy for baby boys that are due to arrive soon. This would even be great in a bigger size for as a throw. Materials needed: • 5.00MM crochet hook • Cascade Yarns Pacific- Used here: 3 skeins of 06 Baby Pink • Tapestry needle for sewing in the ends  Gauge: • 8 hdc= 2 inches ...
