One of the quilt goals I have this year is to make a bunch of seasonal quilts. I started quilting in earnest in July 2017 so I haven't been at this too long. This year I wanted to start building my stash of seasonal quilts so that I have quilts to display around my house at all points of the year. It's going to take a couple of years to really get a good bunch of these but you have to start somewhere ;) When January rolled around, I immediately thought it was time to start a Valentine's quilt. I searched all over for ideas. After much deliberation, I decided on Hearts Afloat by Bev Getschel . I was stunned by how beautiful the heart border was. And though I had never made a mitered corner or done a quilt with scallops, I was not deterred.
