Moda Bake Shop Free Tutorial: Festive Quilt

Today I'm back in the Moda Bake Shop with the tutorial for my  Festive Quilt ! As soon as we caught glimpses of Vintage Holiday last year, I started dreaming up quilt patterns using it. I came up with this design.  I love how the Ohio Stars twinkle!  I designed the border to look like little Christmas tree! But guess what?! This quilt design also looks amazing as a non-holiday quilt too!  Make sure you scroll all the way down to the bottom of my Moda Bake Shop post to see it mocked up in Painted Garden by Crystal Manning!  I'm making that version soon ;) Head on over to  Moda Bake Shop  to get the free tutorial!  Remember, I'd love to see your versions of Festive! Moda Bake Shop Free Tutorial: Sweet Diamonds Baby Quilt

Last week I was back in the  Moda Bake Shop  with a new tutorial for my Sweet Diamonds Baby Quilt ! I had so much fun designing this quilt!  I love making baby quilts and this one was no different.  For this quilt I used Home Sweet Home by Stacy Iest Hsu.  This line is so adorable! In my post, I give fabric requirements for making one baby quilt, two at a time baby quilts, three at a time baby quilts, and a larger throw size!  This pattern works up in no time and is so fun to make.  I'm definitely planning on making the larger throw size soon! Moda Bake Shop Free Tutorial: Picnic Fireworks Quilt

Today I'm back on the Moda Bake Shop with the tutorial for my Picnic Fireworks Quilt ! I really enjoyed making this quilt and have greatly been anticipating the pattern release!  This quilt is made from Moda Fabrics Picnic Basket Wovens .  These are lusciously soft wovens and I'm so happy with how they performed in this quilt. I'm planning on making more things from this line...I'm thinking dresses for my girls, cloth napkins for our picnics, and a picnic bag.  Stay tuned :) These fabrics ship to store in May.  I'll be selling some in my Etsy shop .  Get in touch now if you'd like to reserve a fat quarter bundle.  Also, I can make a few kits for this quilt so if you'd like to preorder one, contact me through Etsy . Moda Bake Shop Free Tutorial: Twinkle Pillows

Today I shared a free tutorial on the Moda Bake Shop for my Twinkle Pillow!  Pillows are a quick, easy project that make a big impact in a room.  In this tutorial, I use Ella & Ollie by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree Quilts.  This fabric is so, so beautiful! I love the beautiful spring look of it and I thought it would make great spring pillows.  Here I am using one charm pack and some yardage to make two 16". Stars are one of my favorite quilt blocks and here I really wanted to highlight the star.  In this free tutorial, I show the details of how I quilted the pillows to really highlight the star design. Head on over to Moda Bake Shop to get the free tutorial!  Remember, I'd love to see your Twinkle Pillows if you make them!  Tag me on Instagram  @skeinandhook or send me an email!  I hope you enjoy the pattern!

Free Quilt Pattern: All Squares Quilt

I've recently become a Chef at Moda Bake Shop and I'm having so much fun!  My first design was this block in their Countdown to Christmas.  My next design, that was shared on their blog last week, is my All Squares Quilt . I absolutely adore this quilt and the potential for versatility.  I used Farmhouse Reds by Minnick & Simpson.  I love this collection...the reds and whites are amazing.  But here are so many possibilities for this quilt...since the larger squares are 8", you can really show off large fabric designs if you'd like and do low volumes for the smaller squares. Here are some more pictures... Head over to Moda Bake Shop for the tutorial .  Enjoy!
