Skein and Hook

Last week I was back in the  Moda Bake Shop  with a new tutorial for my Sweet Diamonds Baby Quilt ! I had so much fun designing this quilt!  I love making baby quilts and this one was no different.  For this quilt I used Home Sweet Home by Stacy Iest Hsu.  This line is so adorable! In my post, I give fabric requirements for making one baby quilt, two at a time baby quilts, three at a time baby quilts, and a larger throw size!  This pattern works up in no time and is so fun to make.  I'm definitely planning on making the larger throw size soon! This is a quick and easy infinity scarf.  I made a bunch of them last winter.  They are cozy and warm with an interesting stitch pattern. Here's a close up of the stitches. You can wear it long or easily double it around your neck for more warmth.   Materials needed: • U.S. N-9.00MM crochet hook • 2 skeins of Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick or other “6” Super bulky yarn • Tapestry needle for sewing in the ends Gauge: • 7 dc= 4 inches Abbreviations: • ch= chain • tc= treble crochet • cluster= yarn over, insert hook into the stitch/space indicated, yarn over and pull through the stitch/space, yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch/space indicated, yarn over and pull through the stitch/space, yarn over, insert hook into the same stitch/space indicated, yarn over and pull through the stitch/space, yarn over, pull through all 7 loops on your hook • sl st= slip stitch Finished size: • 7” wide x 55” aro...

I saw this beautiful cable pattern from  my picot.com and fell in love.  It is one of the most beautiful crochet cable patterns I have ever seen. My favorite part of it is the thick cable.  And as soon as I saw it, I started thinking what I could make with it.  This baby cocoon is what I came up with. Making the first cable is tricky but once you get it down, it's really easy to work up.  There are detailed pictures for this cable at  my picot.com .  You can reference these pictures while you are making this cocoon, just make sure you are looking at the pictures that are for the large cable, not the smaller one or the bobbles.
